Abstract
|
|
|
An attempt was made to formulate criteria for drug resistance of second line drugs
by the absolute concentration method and the cumulative method which had been set
out as cumulative distributions of the results with probably sensitive and probably
resistant populations.
The criteria of resistance applicable in this laboratory were obtained as follows. Any
strain showing growth above 20 or more colonies in concentrations indicated below were
classified as resistant to the corresponding drugs
Capreomycin 50§¶/§¢, Kanamycin 25§¶/§¢,
Prothionamide 56§¶/§¢, Cycloserine 40§¶/§¢.
Ethambutol 2§¶/§¢, Rifampicin 32§¶/§¢.
